Can I create connections through the API?

No at the moment, but it’s on the roadmap, feel free to upvote this feature request to be notified when it lands.

Can I query transactions by date range via the API?

Not yet — date range filtering is currently an open feature request. Each API request returns all available transactions from the connection (up to 90 days for GoCardless connections).
