โ๏ธ Fine-Tuning Your Data
Open banking data varies by bank. Use these settings to ensure accuracy:
Account Names
Lunch Flow automatically infers names from bank details, but you can manually edit these at any time.

Transaction Descriptions & Merchant Names
The next thing you'll want to check is the transaction descriptions and merchant names. GoCardless returns lot of optional data for each transaction, and each bank can return the data in a slightly different format.
Lunch Flow will attempt to infer the transaction description and merchant name from the data returned by the bank (This is the Auto setting) but you can always configure which fields you'd like to use.

We also offer an Advanced mode that allows you to write a custom template to parse the transaction data using Eta templates. You'll find plenty of examples in the template editor, along with a live preview of the template in action.
Tip: you can also use ChatGPT to have it auto generate a template for you ๐

Balances
Finally, you'll want to check the balances. GoCardless potentially returns multiple balances for each account, so you can configure which balance you'd like to use for syncing with your destinations.

Currency & Amounts
These settings let you adjust how transaction amounts and currencies are displayed and synced to your destinations. You can find them under the Amounts tab in your account settings.
Override Currency
Some banks report transaction currencies incorrectly. For example, a bank might report all transactions as USD when the account is actually in EUR. The Override Currency setting lets you force all transactions to use a specific currency when syncing.
To set it, go to your account settings, open the Amounts tab, and select a currency from the Override Currency dropdown. You can clear the override at any time by clicking the X button next to it.
Important: This override applies to all transactions on the account. If your account has transactions in multiple currencies (e.g. a PayPal account with both EUR and USD transactions), the override will change the currency for all of them. Only use this setting for accounts where the bank consistently reports the wrong currency.
A similar Override Balance Currency option is available under the Balance tab, which works the same way but applies to the account balance instead of transactions.
Reverse Amounts
Some banks report transaction signs the wrong way around โ showing expenses as positive numbers and income as negative. If your transactions appear inverted in your destinations, enable the Reverse Amounts toggle to flip them during sync.
The Amounts tab includes a live preview table showing Original vs After Sync amounts, so you can verify the settings look correct before syncing.
Manual Mode
What is Manual Sync Mode?

Manual sync mode stops all background syncing for a connection. When enabled:
Background syncing is paused completely
You won't receive error notifications about sync failures
To sync, you'll need to manually click "Reconnect" on the Connections page, then "Sync Now" on the Destinations page
When should I use it? Manual sync mode is useful if your bank requires 2FA for each sync, which can cause issues with automatic background syncing.
How to enable it:
Go to the Connections page
Select your connection
Click "Switch to Manual"
Note: You can switch back to automatic syncing at any time.
