How Data Flows

Understanding the data flow helps identify where transactions might be missing:

  • Step 1: Your Bank to the Provider

Our open banking providers (GoCardless, MX, Pluggy, Finverse, Akahu, and Snaptrade) securely request data from your bank.

  • Step 2: Provider to Lunch Flow

Lunch Flow retrieves the necessary financial data directly from the provider.

  • Step 3: Lunch Flow to Your Destination

Lunch Flow pushes the updated data to your chosen destination, such as Lunch Money, Actual Budget, or Google Sheets.

Let's check each step to find where the transactions are missing.

Step 1: Does Lunch Flow Have Access?

To check which transactions Lunch Flow has received from the provider:

  1. Go to the Connections page

  2. Select your account

  3. Click the Transactions tab

You'll see all confirmed transactions that Lunch Flow has access to.

Key Things to Check:

  • Is the connection 'Active'? If not, reconnect your bank to resolve the error

  • Are the missing transactions confirmed? Lunch Flow only shows confirmed transactions (not pending)

  • Check your bank's website or app to see if the transaction is still pending

  • Once confirmed by your bank, it should appear in Lunch Flow

  • Want pending transaction support? Upvote this feature request

  • Still don't see the transactions? Reach out via chat or email—we're happy to investigate!

Step 2: If Lunch Flow Has Access, But Destination Doesn't

This can happen if:

  • Destination is configured to sync balances only (not transactions)

  • There was an issue with the sync

What to Do:

Reach out via chat or email with:

  • The account name

  • The destination name

  • Which transactions are missing

We'll investigate and get it sorted! 😄
